Terms of Use
These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the DetectVideo AI website, software, video analysis tools, upload and link submission features, scan packs, redeem code system, result pages, reports, interfaces, and related services available at detectvideo.ai (collectively, the “Service”).
By accessing or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree to these Terms, you must not access or use the Service.
1. Acceptance of these Terms
By visiting the website, uploading a video, submitting a video link, purchasing a scan pack, redeeming an access code, viewing results, downloading reports, or otherwise using the Service, you confirm that you have read, understood, and accepted these Terms.
If you use the Service on behalf of a company, agency, newsroom, moderation team, research group, public body, or other organization, you represent that you have the authority to bind that organization to these Terms.
2. Eligibility
You may use the Service only if you are at least 16 years old and legally capable of entering into a binding agreement under the laws that apply to you. If you are using the Service for an organization, you must be authorized to do so.
3. Purpose of the Service
DetectVideo AI is a technical video verification and analysis service designed to help users identify possible signals of AI-generated, manipulated, synthetic, or otherwise suspicious video content. The Service may provide scores, labels, result summaries, technical indicators, visual previews, timeline-related signals, heatmap-style indicators, audio/video sync indicators, and related analysis outputs.
The Service is intended to support human review. It is not a replacement for professional judgment, independent verification, legal review, forensic examination, editorial decision-making, or official investigation.
4. Permitted use
You may use the Service for lawful personal, professional, editorial, research, moderation, compliance, security, or commercial purposes, provided your use complies with these Terms and all applicable laws.
You are responsible for ensuring that you have the necessary rights, permissions, or lawful basis to upload, submit, process, or analyze any video file, video link, media source, or related content through the Service.
5. Prohibited use
You must not use the Service to:
- Upload, submit, link to, process, store, or distribute illegal content
- Upload or process child sexual abuse material, non-consensual intimate imagery, or content that violates applicable law
- Violate the intellectual property, privacy, publicity, confidentiality, or other rights of any person or organization
- Use the Service for unlawful surveillance, harassment, doxxing, fraud, impersonation, extortion, or harmful disinformation activity
- Misrepresent Service outputs as guaranteed proof of authenticity, falsity, authorship, intent, identity, or wrongdoing
- Use results in a way that creates unfair, discriminatory, defamatory, or legally harmful consequences without appropriate human review
- Probe, scan, scrape, overload, attack, disrupt, reverse engineer, bypass, or interfere with the Service, its systems, or infrastructure
- Bypass usage limits, access controls, scan limits, technical restrictions, paywalls, redeem code validation, security checks, or rate limits
- Use automated scripts, bots, or bulk submission systems without our written permission
- Use the Service to build, benchmark, train, improve, or validate a competing product or substantially similar detection service without our written permission
- Attempt to discover, extract, copy, reconstruct, or misuse non-public parts of the Service, including internal logic, scoring methods, security controls, or operational workflows
We may suspend, restrict, or terminate access to the Service if we reasonably believe that you have violated these Terms, created legal or security risk, misused the Service, attempted to bypass restrictions, or used the Service in a way that may harm us, other users, or third parties.
6. Results are probabilistic and may be wrong
DetectVideo AI provides probabilistic outputs. Results may include likelihood scores, labels, summaries, signal indicators, visual previews, technical observations, confidence levels, and related analysis information. These outputs are generated by automated systems and technical methods that may be incomplete, inaccurate, limited, or wrong.
No video analysis tool can guarantee whether a video is authentic, AI-generated, manipulated, or human-made. Results must not be treated as absolute proof.
You remain solely responsible for reviewing the source, context, quality, evidence, limitations, and consequences of any result before relying on it or sharing it with others.
7. No legal, forensic, regulatory, journalistic, or professional advice
The Service is provided as a technical support tool only. It does not provide legal advice, forensic advice, regulatory advice, investigative conclusions, journalistic advice, expert testimony, compliance opinions, or any other professional service.
Any decision you make based on the Service, including moderation, publication, enforcement, legal, employment, financial, reputational, or investigative decisions, is made at your own risk and under your own responsibility.
8. Free access, paid scan packs, and premium result sections
The Service may include free scans, paid scan packs, access codes, premium result sections, downloadable reports, shareable result links, priority processing, upload limits, and other plan-based features.
Free access may be limited by scan volume, upload size, frequency, result depth, processing availability, feature access, or other technical and operational rules. Certain result sections, including deeper frame review, timeline-related signals, heatmap-style indicators, audio/video sync indicators, or reporting features, may be available only through paid plans.
We may change free limits, paid pack features, upload limits, report availability, redemption rules, or technical restrictions at any time where reasonably necessary for security, abuse prevention, infrastructure protection, legal compliance, cost control, or product improvement.
9. Scan credits, redeem codes, and access continuity
Paid access may be delivered through scan credits, redeem codes, email-based delivery, browser-level continuity measures, usage records, or other access mechanisms. You are responsible for safeguarding any access code, redeem code, or related credential delivered to you.
We may use reasonable technical validation measures to support access continuity, prevent abuse, verify purchases, restore access, and protect paid credits.
We may cancel, revoke, freeze, limit, or refuse credits, codes, or access where we reasonably suspect fraud, abuse, unauthorized sharing, payment reversal, chargeback activity, technical manipulation, or violation of these Terms.
10. Payments and refunds
Payments are processed through third-party payment providers, including Stripe. By making a purchase, you also agree to the applicable terms, privacy notices, and policies of the payment provider used for that transaction.
Unless otherwise required by applicable law, paid scan packs, redeemed credits, completed digital access grants, used scans, and delivered digital features are generally non-refundable.
If you believe a billing error, delivery error, duplicate charge, or access issue occurred, you may contact us at info@detectvideo.ai. We may review the matter in good faith.
11. Your content and submitted links
You retain ownership of the content you upload or submit. By uploading a video file, submitting a video URL, or otherwise providing content to the Service, you represent and warrant that you have the necessary rights, permissions, or lawful basis to do so.
You grant us a limited, non-exclusive, worldwide license to host, copy, transmit, process, analyze, display, store temporarily, generate technical outputs from, and otherwise use submitted content only as reasonably necessary to operate, secure, support, maintain, troubleshoot, and improve the Service.
If you submit a video link from a third-party platform, you are responsible for ensuring that your submission and use of that content complies with the platform’s terms, applicable law, and the rights of others.
12. Processing, storage, and deletion of submitted media
Uploaded videos, submitted links, generated previews, thumbnails, temporary files, and related technical data may be processed for the purpose of providing the Service. We aim to limit storage to what is reasonably necessary for processing, result delivery, abuse prevention, troubleshooting, and service continuity.
Temporary processing files may be deleted automatically after a limited retention period. Some related records, such as result references, payment records, access records, usage logs, or diagnostic information, may be retained for longer where reasonably necessary for security, support, dispute handling, legal compliance, or service continuity.
13. Privacy
Your use of the Service is also subject to our Privacy Policy. Please review it carefully to understand how we collect, use, store, protect, and share personal data and technical information in connection with the Service.
14. Intellectual property
The Service, including its software, interface, design, branding, systems, workflows, reports, text, graphics, code, features, databases, scoring presentation, and non-public operational logic, is owned by us or our licensors and is protected by intellectual property and other applicable laws.
Except for the limited right to use the Service in accordance with these Terms, no license, ownership right, or intellectual property right is granted to you.
15. Third-party services and platforms
The Service may rely on or interact with third-party services, including hosting providers, payment processors, email providers, analytics tools, security services, video platforms, content sources, and other technical providers.
We do not control third-party services, platforms, policies, content, or availability. Your use of third-party services is governed by their own terms, privacy notices, and rules.
16. Service availability and changes
We may update, improve, restrict, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service at any time. We do not guarantee that the Service, any feature, result format, report format, scan pack, integration, upload workflow, or output will remain available, uninterrupted, secure, or error-free.
We may modify or remove features where reasonably necessary for operational, security, legal, commercial, or product-related reasons.
17. Security and responsible use
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures designed to protect the Service and user data. However, no system, transmission, hosting environment, or security measure is completely secure.
You must not attempt to bypass, test, exploit, or interfere with the Service or its security controls. If you believe you have found a security issue, please contact us responsibly at info@detectvideo.ai.
18. Disclaimers
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Service and all related outputs are provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis, without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, statutory, or otherwise.
We do not warrant that the Service will be accurate, complete, reliable, available, uninterrupted, secure, error-free, suitable for your intended purpose, or capable of detecting every AI-generated, manipulated, or authentic video.
19. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, we shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, revenue, goodwill, business opportunity, data, reputation, or expected savings arising out of or related to your use of, or inability to use, the Service.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total aggregate liability for all claims arising out of or in connection with the Service or these Terms shall not exceed the greater of:
- the total amount you paid to us for the relevant paid Service during the 12 months before the claim arose, or
- €50
Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes liability that cannot legally be limited or excluded under applicable law.
20. Indemnity
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless DetectVideo AI and its operators, affiliates, service providers, and licensors from and against claims, liabilities, damages, judgments, losses, and reasonable costs arising out of or related to your misuse of the Service, your content, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of the rights of any third party.
21. Termination
You may stop using the Service at any time. We may suspend, limit, or terminate your access to the Service at any time, with or without notice, if we reasonably believe that doing so is necessary to protect the Service, comply with law, prevent abuse, respond to security risk, or enforce these Terms.
Provisions that by their nature should survive termination shall survive, including provisions relating to intellectual property, payments, disclaimers, limitation of liability, indemnity, privacy, and dispute-related matters.
22. Governing law and jurisdiction
These Terms are governed by the laws of Germany, excluding conflict of laws rules.
Any dispute arising out of or in connection with these Terms or the Service shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the courts in Germany, subject to any mandatory consumer protection rights or jurisdiction rules that apply under applicable law.
23. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will update the “Last updated” date shown on this page. The updated Terms become effective when posted on the website, unless a different effective date is stated.
Your continued use of the Service after updated Terms become effective means that you accept the revised Terms.
24. Contact
If you have questions about these Terms, please contact us at info@detectvideo.ai.
