Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how DetectVideo AI (“we”, “us”, “our”) collects, uses, stores, protects, and shares personal data when you visit detectvideo.ai, use our AI video detection tool, upload a video, submit a video link, purchase scan packs, redeem access codes, view result pages, download reports, or contact us through the website (collectively, the “Service”).
We aim to collect and retain only the information that is reasonably necessary to operate, secure, improve, support, and deliver the Service. We do not sell your personal data or uploaded video content.
1. Who is responsible for your data
DetectVideo AI is responsible for the processing of personal data described in this Privacy Policy, unless another party is clearly identified as responsible for a specific processing activity.
You can contact us at info@detectvideo.ai if you have questions about this Privacy Policy or about how we process personal data.
2. Data we collect
Depending on how you use the Service, we may collect the following categories of data.
2.1 Video uploads, video links, and analysis-related data
- Video files that you upload for analysis
- Video URLs or media links that you submit for analysis
- Temporary processing files, previews, thumbnails, or derived technical files
- Technical metadata related to submitted media, such as file type, size, duration, resolution, format, processing status, or source type
- Generated result data, such as scores, labels, confidence indicators, summaries, signal categories, result references, and related output fields
We process this data to provide video analysis, generate result pages, support paid and free workflows, troubleshoot errors, prevent abuse, and maintain the reliability of the Service.
2.2 Scan packs, access codes, and redemption data
- Email address used for purchases, access code delivery, redemption, support, or access restoration
- Redeem codes, access codes, scan balances, usage records, pack type, plan level, and redemption status
- Payment status, product identifiers, payment link identifiers, and related transaction references received from payment providers
- Records showing whether a scan was free, paid, redeemed, processed, expired, failed, or completed
We currently provide paid access without requiring a full user account. To make paid access work across future visits and, where possible, across devices, we may link scan pack usage to a combination of email address, redeem code, access code, browser-level identifiers, and service-side records.
2.3 Technical, device, and usage data
- IP address, which may be minimized, shortened, or hashed where reasonably possible
- Browser type, browser version, device type, operating system, language settings, and approximate request context
- Date and time of requests, result views, uploads, redemptions, payment-related events, and technical actions
- Referring pages, general page interactions, tool usage, error states, and limited diagnostic logs
- Security and abuse-prevention signals, such as rate-limiting information, request patterns, failed attempts, and system-level events
We use this information to operate the Service, secure the platform, prevent misuse, enforce limits, diagnose errors, maintain performance, and improve the product in a proportionate way.
2.4 Contact and support information
If you contact us by email, form, or another support channel, we may process the information you provide, such as your name, email address, company name, message content, attachments, and related communication history. We use this information to respond to your request and provide support.
2.5 Cookies and similar technologies
We use cookies and similar technologies to operate the website, remember preferences, support secure payment-related flows, maintain access continuity, manage consent, protect the Service, measure performance, and understand website usage.
Depending on your choices and applicable law, these technologies may include strictly necessary cookies, functional cookies, security-related technologies, and analytics-related cookies. Where required, non-essential cookies are used only with your consent.
3. How we use your data
We use personal data and related technical information for the following purposes:
- To provide the AI video detection Service and generate analysis results
- To process uploaded videos, submitted links, previews, thumbnails, metadata, and result views
- To manage free usage limits, paid scan packs, redeem codes, access restoration, and remaining scan balances
- To deliver access codes, purchase confirmations, support responses, and service-related emails
- To process and support payments through payment providers such as Stripe
- To detect fraud, prevent abuse, secure the Service, and enforce technical limits
- To troubleshoot errors, monitor system health, maintain stability, and improve performance
- To understand website usage and improve product experience, where permitted by law
- To respond to support requests, contact inquiries, complaints, and legal requests
- To create aggregated or anonymized statistics that do not directly identify individual users
We do not sell your personal data or uploaded video content. We do not share uploaded videos with third parties for their independent marketing purposes.
4. Legal basis for processing
If you are located in the EU, EEA, UK, or another jurisdiction with similar legal requirements, we process personal data on one or more of the following legal bases:
- Performance of a contract: when processing is necessary to provide the Service, process a scan, deliver a result, manage a paid scan pack, redeem a code, or respond to a service request
- Legitimate interests: when processing is necessary to secure the Service, prevent abuse, maintain logs, troubleshoot issues, improve performance, support customers, and operate the business in a proportionate way
- Consent: where required, for example for certain cookies, analytics, or optional technologies
- Legal obligation: where processing is necessary to comply with applicable law, accounting requirements, tax obligations, legal requests, or dispute handling
5. Uploaded videos and submitted links
Uploaded videos and submitted links are processed to provide the requested analysis and related result functionality. We aim to limit access to submitted media and related technical data to what is reasonably necessary for processing, security, support, troubleshooting, and service operation.
Temporary files, previews, thumbnails, and processing data may be deleted automatically after a limited retention period. Some related records may be retained longer where reasonably necessary for result access, paid credit continuity, dispute handling, security, diagnostic logs, or legal compliance.
Because video content may contain personal data, voices, faces, locations, or other sensitive context, you should only upload or submit content where you have the necessary rights, permissions, or lawful basis.
6. Paid result sections and reports
Certain result features may be available only through paid scan packs. These may include deeper result sections, shareable result links, or downloadable reports. We may process result-related records, plan status, and access information to determine which features are available to a user and to support purchased access.
We avoid exposing paid result data to users who are not entitled to access it. However, no online system can be guaranteed to be completely immune from all unauthorized access or misuse.
7. Payments and Stripe
We use Stripe to process scan pack purchases and related payment workflows. When you make a purchase, relevant transaction and customer information may be processed by Stripe in accordance with its own privacy and security practices.
We do not store full card details on our servers. We may receive limited transaction-related information from Stripe, such as payment status, product or payment link identifiers, customer email, amount, currency, event identifiers, and related reference data. We use this information to issue scan credits, generate access codes, maintain purchase records, and deliver service-related emails.
8. Email delivery and service messages
We may send service-related emails, including access codes, purchase-related messages, support replies, redemption information, operational notices, or important security and account-free access messages.
These messages are necessary for the operation of the Service and are not marketing emails. If we send marketing emails in the future, we will do so only where permitted by law and with any required consent or opt-out mechanism.
9. Analytics and website measurement
We may use analytics and measurement tools, such as Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager, Google Search Console, or similar technologies, to understand website usage, measure performance, improve content, and make better product decisions.
Where required by law, analytics-related technologies are used only with your consent. You may be able to manage your choices through the cookie or consent interface available on the website.
10. Security and abuse prevention
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures designed to protect personal data and submitted media against unauthorized access, misuse, loss, alteration, or unlawful disclosure. These measures may include access controls, validation checks, minimized logging, rate limiting, monitoring, secure integrations, and limited retention practices.
We do not describe all security measures publicly, because doing so could reduce their effectiveness. However, we regularly aim to improve security, reduce unnecessary data exposure, and limit access to data based on operational need.
No system or transmission method is completely secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security.
11. How long we keep data
We retain data only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy, unless a longer period is required or permitted by law.
- Uploaded videos, temporary files, previews, and thumbnails: generally retained only for short processing windows and automatic cleanup periods, including approximately 24 hours where applicable
- Result references and scan records: retained as needed to provide result access, support paid usage, prevent abuse, troubleshoot issues, and maintain service continuity
- Paid access and redemption records: retained as needed to deliver purchased credits, restore access, resolve disputes, prevent fraud, and maintain business records
- Payment-related records: retained as needed for accounting, tax, chargeback, dispute, and legal compliance purposes
- Technical and security logs: retained for a limited period appropriate for security, debugging, fraud prevention, and operational monitoring
- Support messages: retained as long as needed to respond, maintain a reasonable support history, and protect our rights
- Analytics and consent records: retained according to tool settings, consent choices, and applicable legal requirements
12. How we share data
We may share data with the following categories of recipients where necessary:
- Hosting and infrastructure providers that help operate the website and Service
- Payment providers such as Stripe, where necessary to process purchases and payment-related events
- Email delivery providers where necessary to send access codes, service messages, and support responses
- Analytics and measurement providers where permitted by law and your consent choices
- Security, monitoring, and technical service providers that help protect and maintain the Service
- Professional advisers, authorities, or legal recipients where necessary to comply with law, protect rights, prevent fraud, or respond to valid legal requests
We do not share uploaded videos or personal data with third parties for their independent marketing purposes.
13. International data transfers
Depending on where you are located and where our service providers operate, your data may be processed in countries outside your own. Where required by applicable law, we use appropriate safeguards for international data transfers, such as contractual protections or other lawful transfer mechanisms.
14. Your rights
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have rights in relation to your personal data, including the right to:
- Request access to the personal data we hold about you
- Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete data
- Request deletion of your data, subject to applicable limitations
- Object to or restrict certain processing

15. Children
The Service is not directed to children under the age of 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided personal data to us, please contact us so we can investigate and take appropriate action.
16. Your responsibilities
You are responsible for ensuring that you have the necessary rights, permissions, or lawful basis to upload, submit, or analyze any video, link, or related content through the Service. You should avoid submitting content that you are not authorized to process or that could violate the rights, privacy, or safety of others.
17. Changes to this Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect legal, technical, product, or business changes. When we do, we will update the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. The updated version becomes effective when posted on the website, unless a different effective date is stated.
18. Contact
