Privacy Policy
Last updated: 24 April 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how DetectVideo AI (“we”, “us”, “our”) collects, uses, stores, and protects personal data when you visit detectvideo.ai, use our AI video detection tool, purchase scan packs, redeem access codes, or contact us through the website (collectively, the “Service”).
We aim to collect only the data that is reasonably necessary to operate, secure, improve, and support the Service. By using the Service, you acknowledge that your information may be processed as described in this Privacy Policy.
1. Data we collect
Depending on how you use the Service, we may collect the following categories of data:
1.1 Video uploads, links, and related analysis data
- Video files that you upload for analysis
- Video URLs that you submit for analysis
- Generated thumbnails, extracted technical metadata, and analysis-related outputs
- Basic information about the file or source, such as duration, resolution, codec, platform, or processing status
We process this data to generate AI video detection results, support core functionality, troubleshoot technical issues, and maintain the reliability of the Service.
1.2 Account-free access, scan packs, and redemption data
- Email address used for paid scan pack delivery, access code redemption, or support-related verification
- Redeem codes, browser tokens, remaining scan balances, and related usage records
- Plan-related data such as pack type, credits, redemption status, and usage history
We currently operate paid access without requiring a full user account. To make paid access work across future visits and, where possible, across devices, we may link scan pack usage to a combination of redeem code, email address, and browser-level identifiers.
1.3 Technical, device, and usage data
- IP address, stored in minimized or hashed form where reasonably possible
- Browser type, browser version, device type, operating system, and language settings
- Date and time of requests
- Referring pages, tool interactions, and limited usage logs
- Security and abuse-prevention signals such as rate-limiting and request patterns
We use this data to operate the Service, enforce limits, detect abuse, maintain security, improve stability, and understand product usage in an aggregated way.
1.4 Contact and support information
If you contact us by email or through a contact form, we may process the information you provide, such as your name, email address, and message, in order to respond to your request and provide support.
1.5 Cookies and similar technologies
We use cookies and similar technologies to run the website, remember preferences, manage consent, support secure payment-related flows, and, where applicable, measure traffic and improve performance.
Depending on your choices and applicable law, these technologies may include strictly necessary cookies as well as analytics-related cookies. For more details, please see the cookie-related information provided through our consent interface and this Privacy Policy.

3. Legal basis for processing
If you are located in the EU, EEA, UK, or another jurisdiction with similar legal requirements, we process personal data on one or more of the following legal bases:
- Performance of a contract or steps taken at your request before entering into a contract, for example when you use the Service, purchase a scan pack, or request a paid feature

4. Payments and Stripe
We use Stripe to process scan pack purchases and related payment workflows. When you make a purchase, relevant transaction and customer information may be processed by Stripe in accordance with its own privacy and security practices.
We do not store full card details on our servers. We may receive limited transaction-related information from Stripe, such as payment status, product or payment link identifiers, customer email, and related reference data, in order to issue scan credits, generate redeem codes, and deliver service-related emails.
5. Analytics and website measurement
We use tools such as Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager to understand how visitors use the website, improve performance, and make better product and content decisions. Where required by law, such technologies are used only on the basis of your consent.
We also use Google Search Console for site performance and search visibility insights. Search Console does not function as a cookie-based analytics tool in the same way as Google Analytics, but it may support our overall website operations and SEO monitoring.
6. How long we keep data
We retain data only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Policy.
- Uploaded videos, derived files, and thumbnails: generally retained only for short processing windows and automatic cleanup periods. Temporary processing data may be deleted automatically, including after approximately 24 hours where applicable

We do not share uploaded videos or personal data with third parties for their own independent marketing purposes.
8. International data transfers
Depending on where you are located and where our service providers operate, your data may be processed in countries outside your own. Where required by applicable law, we use appropriate safeguards for international data transfers, such as contractual protections or other lawful transfer mechanisms.

10. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures designed to protect personal data against unauthorized access, misuse, loss, or unlawful disclosure. These measures may include restricted access, minimized logging, validation controls, rate limiting, and secure service integrations.
However, no system or transmission method is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
11. Children
The Service is not directed to children under the age of 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided personal data to us, please contact us so we can investigate and take appropriate action.
