1. Acceptance of terms

These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the DetectVideo AI website and AI video detection tool available at detectvideo.ai (the “Service”). By accessing or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, you must not use the Service.

2. Use of the Service

  1. Eligibility
    You may use the Service only if you are at least 16 years old and legally able to enter into a binding agreement in your jurisdiction.

  2. Permitted use
    You may use the Service to upload or submit video content or URLs in order to generate AI video detection results for your own personal or business purposes, in compliance with these Terms and applicable law.

  3. Prohibited use
    You agree not to use the Service to:

    • Upload or link to illegal content, including child sexual abuse material, non-consensual intimate imagery or content that violates applicable law

    • Upload or distribute content that infringes intellectual property rights or privacy rights of others

    • Attempt to reverse engineer, probe or interfere with the Service, our models or infrastructure

    • Bypass or disrupt security features, rate limits or technical restrictions

    • Use the Service to train competing models or to provide a substantially similar detection service without our consent

    • Misrepresent detection results as guaranteed proof of authenticity or falsity

We may suspend or terminate access to the Service if we reasonably believe that you have violated these Terms or applicable law.

3. No guarantees and no professional advice

  1. Probabilistic results
    DetectVideo AI provides probabilistic scores and labels such as “likely AI-generated” or “likely human”. These outputs are generated by machine learning models and heuristics and may be wrong or incomplete.
    No tool can guarantee human authenticity; results are probabilistic.

  2. No warranties
    The Service and all outputs are provided “as is” and “as available” without any warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including but not limited to accuracy, reliability, fitness for a particular purpose or non-infringement.

  3. No professional advice
    The Service does not provide legal, regulatory, forensic or journalistic advice. You remain solely responsible for how you interpret and use the results and for any decisions you make based on them.

4. Intellectual property

  1. Our rights
    The Service, including all software, models, algorithms, design elements, logos and content, is owned by us or our licensors and is protected by intellectual property laws. Except for the limited right to use the Service under these Terms, you obtain no rights to our intellectual property.

  2. Your content
    By submitting video files or URLs, you confirm that you have the necessary rights or permissions to use that content with the Service.
    You retain ownership of your content. By uploading or submitting content, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive, worldwide license to process that content only as necessary to operate and improve the Service (including security, debugging and model evaluation).

5. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law:

  • We shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, special or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, revenue, data or goodwill, arising out of or in connection with the use of the Service.

  • To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total aggregate liability for any claim relating to the Service shall not exceed €50.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law.

6. Third-party services and links

The Service may interact with or rely on third-party services (for example, video hosting platforms, CDN providers or analytics tools). We are not responsible for and do not endorse any third-party sites, services or content. Your use of third-party services is subject to their own terms and privacy policies.

7. Changes and availability

We may modify, suspend or discontinue any part of the Service at any time with or without notice. We may also update these Terms from time to time. The “Last updated” date indicates the latest revision. Your continued use of the Service after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

8. Termination

You may stop using the Service at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service if you violate these Terms or if we reasonably believe your use causes risk or harm to us, other users or third parties.

9. Governing law and jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by the laws of Germany, without regard to its conflict of laws rules.
Courts in Germany shall have jurisdiction over any dispute arising out of or in connection with these Terms or the Service, subject to any mandatory consumer rights that apply in your country of residence.
